Georgia is our optometrist. She’s always known she wanted to follow in her family’s footsteps, and has worked in an opticians since she was just 16.

Despite being quite young, she already has a wealth of experience under her belt. Having worked in a large chain for eight years, she made the switch to a local independent in 2018 before finally taking the leap in 2020 to fulfil her lifelong dream of owning her own practice. The rest is history!

Lesley has over 20 years of experience in eye care and eyewear, having worked for several independent opticians before relocating to York in January 2020, where she has worked with Georgia ever since. They are a great team.

Lesley is passionate about finding Rae & Rae’s patients the perfect pair of specs, and with a collection of over 300, hand-picked frames to choose from (which she knows inside out), you can rest assured that you are in safe hands with Lesley.

Practice Manager & Co-owner

Tracey’s is probably the first smile you will see when you enter the store. Having worked in her father’s practice growing up, she is no stranger to running an opticians.

Once a fashion buyer for Harvey Nichols, Tracey has thoroughly enjoyed her return to the world of optics, not least because she is working alongside her eldest daughter, Georgia, helping her achieve her dream of running her own independent opticians.

Andy is a local boy that lives in the city centre with his wife (who is also a Dispensing Optician). Andy loves a challenge and thrives on spending time with our customers, getting to know them and finding the right solution for their optical needs — the perfect combination for a Rae & Rae Dispensing Optician!

Rowena grew up in a village just outside York. She’s worked in independent optics for over 15 years and has been involved in everything from reception/admin to dispensing and eye tests. In her spare time, she likes sewing clothes, eating out, reading, and holidays (obviously 😄).

Receptionist

Having worked at the White Company for over 10 years and lived in York for many more, Sarah is quite the face around York! Easy to talk to and happy to help, Sarah is the person to help start your Rae & Rae journey. From booking appointments to a friendly face on arrival, she’s perfectly placed as our front of house. And did we mention she makes a mean cuppa (or a spritz if you catch her at the weekend).
